Digital Justice: Legal Challenges and Frameworks in the Age of Artificial Intelligence
Main Article Content
Abstract
The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies into legal systems represents both
unprecedented opportunities for enhanced judicial efficiency and significant challenges to
traditional concepts of justice, due process, and constitutional rights. This paper examines the
evolving landscape of digital justice, analyzing the legal challenges posed by AI implementation
in judicial contexts and evaluating existing and proposed regulatory frameworks designed to
address these concerns. Through comprehensive analysis of current case law, regulatory
developments, and theoretical frameworks, this research identifies key areas where AI intersects
with fundamental legal principles, including algorithmic bias, transparency requirements,
accountability mechanisms, and constitutional protections. The paper proposes a multi-layered
approach to AI governance in legal contexts, emphasizing the need for adaptive regulatory
frameworks that balance technological innovation with the preservation of core democratic and
constitutional values. Findings suggest that successful integration of AI in legal systems requires
robust oversight mechanisms, enhanced transparency requirements, and comprehensive training
programs for legal professionals. The research concludes that while AI presents transformative
potential for improving access to justice and judicial efficiency, careful consideration of ethical
implications and constitutional safeguards is essential to maintain public trust and legitimacy in
digital justice systems
